U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin had a telephone conversation with Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov, Interfax news agency said, referring to the Pentagon.
Austin underlined the importance of keeping open the channels of communication amid Russia’s ongoing war against Ukraine.
It was mentioned that the Pentagon is for continuing the dialogue at the level of defense ministers.
