The appearance of the Americans in the South Caucasus will only contribute to the potential of existing conflicts in the region. Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said this at a press briefing in response to the question about the Armenian-American military drills of 2024, which started in Armenia in mid-July.
“The appearance of the Americans in the South Caucasus—as we have seen many times in different parts of the world—will only contribute to the increase of tension in the region,” Zakharova noted.
