Belarus expects to receive the status of a BRICS partner at the organization’s summit scheduled for October in Kazan, the country’s Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov said.
“The issue of our joining BRICS as a partner is being worked out. We met the new ambassador of China. He told us that a consensus had already been reached on the status of the partnership. Now we have to work more actively with member countries of the organization so that we are given this status at the BRICS summit, which will be held in Kazan and which our president will attend,” the official said.
Earlier, Ryzhenkov stated that all BRICS members are ready to see Belarus as a partner country of the organization.
