Zakharova: Russia regularly calls on Baku and Yerevan to refrain from disrespectful rhetoric

At the official level, Russia regularly calls on Baku and Yerevan to refrain from such rhetoric, which could be perceived as a disrespect for each other’s territorial integrity or a threat of a force scenario in the settlement of controversial issues, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a weekly press conference held on Oct. 2.

“The topic of refugees and temporary asylum seekers is topical for both sides. Taking all this into account, we consider it useful for Baku and Yerevan to activate the dialogue on the whole set of humanitarian issues, including the preservation of historical and cultural monuments, religious heritage, the ensuring of safe and free visits of people to the graves of their ancestors, the search for those who went missing during hostilities,” Zakharova said, noting that if there is a need for Russia’s involvement in that matter, the Russian side is ready for it.
