US imposes sanctions on Russian media

The U.S. has imposed  sanctions on Russia Today, RIA Novosti, RT, Sputnik and Ruptly media groups. The new restrictions have also affected Margarita Simonyan and several RT top managers.

Restrictions have been imposed on ten individuals and two organizations on the charge of “having hostile influence on the country’s presidential elections”.
