Putin wishes Lukashenko success in upcoming presidential elections

Russian President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.

“Vladimir Putin warmly congratulated Alexander Lukashenko on the Feast of Theophany and conveyed his best wishes to all Orthodox citizens of Belarus,” the ministry stated.

Putin also wished Lukashenko success in the presidential elections scheduled for Jan. 26.
