Russia submits draft resolution on applying Article 25 of the CSTO Charter to Armenia
The CSTO Collective Security Council may consider applying Article 25 of the organization's Charter to Armenia, provided the relevant agenda is approved. This was stated by CSTO Secretary General Taalaibek Masadykov.
"This year, if the agenda is approved on the 10th, the issue will be discussed at a meeting of the Collective Security Council. The decision to suspend participation is Armenia's to make. As for the decision of the Collective Security Council, representing the heads of our member states, it will be announced after the meeting," Masadykov said in response to a question from TASS.
Masadykov noted that the Russian Federation had submitted a draft resolution on applying Article 25 of the CSTO Charter to Armenia.
"This concerns membership fees and, so to speak, representation, but not participation in the work of the Collective Security Treaty Organization," he added.
