The three forces of the Artsakh NA Opposition, namely the
Artsakh Justice Party, the Armenian Revolutionary Federation and the Democratic
Party of Artsakh have nominated Artsakh State Minister Samvel Shahramanyan for
president.
“We submitted the nomination form to the National Assembly
yesterday evening,” Artsakh NA MP Metaxe Hakobyan said to ABC Media.
In response to the question whether the ruling party is
going to put up a candidate or not, Hakobyan urged us to wait for an official
statement.
“There are many reasons why the Opposition has chosen Samvel
Shahramanian as its candidate. His career path has shown that one must be
upright and must observe the law for the sake of Artsakh. It is very important
that we have consensus over the presidential candidate,” Hakobyan noted.
According to Metaxe Hakobyan, although this time the
National Assembly is going to elect the president, we can say that Shahramanyan
is the people’s candidate as well, as she has not met anyone who does not
support his candidacy.
Hakobyan is sure that Shahramanyan will not make decisions
under pressure, but in accord with the interests of Artsakh.
