A protest is taking place outside the U.N. Office in
Armenia. Protesters’ demand is for the lifting of the Artsakh blockade.
The protesters note that the situation in Artsakh is
deteriorating day by day.
“As you can see, people experience the consequences of
the humanitarian disaster firsthand. Someone’s relative died in Artsakh,
another person’s father was abducted,” one of the protesters said.
The protesters call on the U.N. to support Artsakh and avert
the humanitarian crisis, noting that Azerbaijan is flagrantly violating
fundamental human rights.
“Now, we are here, outside the U.N. Office in Armenia,
to present the problems besetting Artsakh. The civilized world remains silent
while Azerbaijan pursues a genocidal policy of ethnic cleansing in Artsakh. We
will be able to have statehood
only through ceaseless struggle and iron will,” one of
the protesters said.
