European People’s Party urges Turkey to confront historical truth and take genuine steps toward reconciliation

The European People’s Party has issued a statement marking the 111th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

“Today, we stand alongside the Armenian people in remembrance and solidarity. We have a duty to uphold their memory with dignity and to persist in the pursuit of justice,” the statement said.

“We urge Turkey to confront the truth of the past and to engage in sincere steps towards reconciliation, opening a path to a more peaceful and shared future.”
