Ushakov says Armenian authorities trying to sit on 2 chairs

Armenian authorities are trying to sit on two chairs, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said, according to RIA Novosti.

“Unfortunately, Yerevan is still trying to maintain what I would call a policy of sitting on two chairs. How long they will be able to remain in this position, I do not know. But all of this, of course, is to the detriment of our bilateral relations, which are so beneficial for both Russia and Armenia,” Ushakov said.

He added that relations with Russia are even more beneficial for Yerevan than for Moscow.

“The largely favorable situation, particularly in relation to Armenia’s economic development, is due to the successful development of relations between our countries, especially Armenia’s cooperation within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union,” Ushakov stated.
