2 powerful earthquakes strike Venezuela

Powerful earthquakes measuring 7.2 and 7.5 in magnitude have struck Venezuela, prompting authorities to declare a state of emergency.

Several residential and commercial buildings, including high-rise structures, have collapsed in the capital. Rescue teams are working to evacuate people trapped under the rubble and assist those affected.

Authorities have not yet released information on the number of casualties or injuries.

Caracas’ Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía has been temporarily closed due to severe infrastructure damage, partial collapse of the terminal roof, and a power outage.
