Russia expresses readiness to assist Armenia and Azerbaijan in achieving full relations normalization
Russia’s foreign ministry has said Moscow considers peace and stability in the South Caucasus important and is ready to assist in the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The ministry made the statement ahead of Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov’s official visit to Russia.
“Peace and stability in the South Caucasus are important to us. As before, we are ready to provide the requested assistance for the full normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, including the signing of a peace treaty, border delimitation, and the unblocking of transport links,” the agency stated.
The statement says Moscow views Bayramov’s visit as part of efforts to continue a dialogue based on mutual trust and further expand cooperation.
It added that the foreign ministers are expected to discuss the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, as well as exchange views on the most pressing issues on the regional and international agenda.
