Iran says Tehran won’t allow Washington to decide when war or peace comes
Iran will not allow the United States to determine the timing of war and peace, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said, stressing that Tehran’s main criteria are national interests and national security.
“It is unclear why the United States believes it controls the war. They thought they could quickly defeat Iran, but that did not happen. They must take responsibility for the current situation,” Baghaei said.
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson said Iran makes its decisions based on its national interests and security considerations.
“We have never allowed, and will never allow, the United States to decide the timing of war and peace. When our national interests require it, we will defend ourselves. When we believe that diplomacy serves the protection of our national interests, we will use this tool,” he added.
