OSCE chair visits Azerbaijan to promote peace and stability in South Caucasus

Ignazio Cassis, the OSCE chairperson-in-office and Switzerland’s foreign minister, has announced the start of his first official visit to Azerbaijan.

In a post on X, Cassis said Switzerland highly values its partnership with Azerbaijan and aims to deepen cooperation in trade, innovation and the economy, while stepping up efforts to promote dialogue, peace, stability and prosperity in the South Caucasus.

The OSCE chairperson-in-office also said the visit marks the beginning of a broader regional tour. His next stop will be Turkmenistan.

Cassis’s trip is the first leg of a regional tour that will continue this autumn with visits to Armenia and Georgia.
