Georgia deports 55 foreign nationals, including Armenian citizens

Georgia’s interior ministry has deported 55 foreign nationals, including Armenian nationals, in recent days, the ministry’s press service said, according to TASS.

According to the ministry, those deported from Georgia were citizens of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Egypt, India, Iraq, Pakistan, Russia, Sudan, Somalia, Thailand, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and other countries.

The deported individuals have been banned from entering Georgia.

Recently, Georgia has stepped up efforts to crack down on illegal migration. The parliament has tightened migration laws and simplified deportation procedures.

The Georgian interior ministry reports the deportation of dozens of foreign nationals every month.
