Macron’s approval rating plunges as 79% of French voters express dissatisfaction

An overwhelming majority of French people are dissatisfied with the performance of President Emmanuel Macron, according to a new opinion poll. Macron has lost all the support he had gradually regained among the public since January, the results show.

The poll, conducted by CSA at the request of Le Journal du Dimanche, found that Macron’s approval rating had fallen by 7 percentage points. Of the 1,000 French respondents surveyed, only 21% said they approved of the president’s performance, while 79% expressed dissatisfaction with his policies.

According to the newspaper, Macron has now lost all of the support he had gradually regained since the beginning of the year. At the same time, dissatisfaction with the president has risen even among supporters of his Renaissance party, which he founded.
