Zakharova: If Armenia introduces visas, it will be a step against Yerevan itself

Armenia’s potential introduction of a visa regime for Russian citizens would be a move directed not against Moscow, but against Yerevan itself, stated Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova at the Eastern Economic Forum.

“If Armenia suddenly introduces visas, it will not be doing this against us – it will be doing this against its own citizens,” Zakharova said.

She emphasized that such a decision will also affect Russian citizens who have a large number of relatives in Armenia.
