“Seriously?”: Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs responds to US threat of new sanctions

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has sharply criticized the new sanctions imposed against the Islamic Republic by the United States.

The head of the Iranian foreign policy department made this statement in a post on his official account on the social media platform X.

As the minister noted, after 47 years of restrictive measures, the United States has launched a war against Iran on the side of Israel. He emphasized that the consequences have been catastrophic for America, including regarding its standing on the global stage.

Araghchi added that after failing to achieve its goals through either sanctions or war, Washington’s “new” solution has been to introduce even more restrictive measures against Iran.

“Seriously?” the Iranian Foreign Minister asked.
