US says South Caucasus situation developing in right direction

The United States stresses that the current situation in the South Caucasus is developing in the right direction and remains committed to supporting the establishment of lasting peace in the region, Amy Carlon, the US Chargé d’Affaires in Azerbaijan, told.

Carlon highlighted that Washington notes significant progress achieved following the August 8, 2025 meeting in Washington between US President Donald Trump, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

“This progress achieved during this period truly pleases us. Therefore, we unequivocally assess the situation in the South Caucasus as developing in the right direction,” she said.

The diplomat emphasized that the United States is committed to helping establish lasting peace in the region, including through projects aimed at ensuring prosperity.
