Galuzin: Russia has not received any requests from Armenia regarding the withdrawal of the Russian military base from Gyumri

Galuzin: Russia has not received any requests from Armenia regarding the withdrawal of the Russian military base from Gyumri

Brussels views its “wards” in Armenia as a source of resources and labor, while its promises are ephemeral in nature, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin told Известия.

According to the diplomat, promises of a “wonderful European future” for Armenia are “ephemeral” and only highlight the “utilitarian” approach of Brussels.

The diplomat noted that Europe views its “wards” merely as a source of resources and labor, as well as a consumer market devoid of industry for its own goods and services. Galuzin stated that a high price must be paid for all of this.

Regarding the Russian military base in Gyumri, Galuzin stated that Russia has not received any requests from Armenia concerning its withdrawal.

The diplomat emphasized that Moscow continues to proceed from the assumption that this military base is an important element of the security architecture of Armenia and the South Caucasus.
