France boosts defense industry jobs

French authorities anticipate that defense industry enterprises will be able to hire 100,000 people by 2030, according to the newspaper Le Figaro.

The newspaper notes that French Labor Minister Jean-Pierre Farandou has approved an employment plan with the support of France Travail, the national employment agency. A working group led by a retired general has been established within this organization, the publication reports.

Authorities are preparing 15,000 training programs tailored to the needs of the defense sector. The newspaper recalls that in early August, the Labor Minister identified key priorities: integrating young people into the labor market and retaining experienced workers by adapting their skills to market demands—specifically in the nuclear energy, ecological transition, and defense sectors.
