Baltic states request €500 million from EU to counter drones

Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia have requested €500 million from the European Commission to strengthen systems for countering unmanned aerial vehicles that violate their airspace.

Lithuanian Defense Minister Robertas Kaunas announced this in an interview with LRT.

According to him, the defense ministers of the three countries signed a joint request for funding.

Kaunas stated that the Baltic states plan to integrate drone detection, identification, and neutralization capabilities into a unified system utilizing artificial intelligence.
