US allocates over $200 million for development of Trans-Caspian route
The United States has allocated $201 million to support the development of the Trans-Caspian route, said Amy Carlon, Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan, at the Central Asia-Mongolia-Caucasus-Afghanistan (CAMCA) Regional Forum in Baku.
Carlon said the United States considers the development of the economic and human potential of a more interconnected CAMCA region a priority. According to her, expanding connectivity within the region is among the key priorities for the United States.
”The Trans-Caspian International Trade Route connects Central Asia, the Caspian region and the South Caucasus with US and European markets. This trade route is not just infrastructure. It is a bridge between economies, peoples and their futures,” Carlon said.
”We believe that a connected region is a prosperous region. A fully realized Trans-Caspian International Trade Route has the potential to transform trade patterns across Eurasia, and every country represented here can benefit from it,” she added.
Carlon also said the United States views the CAMCA region as an area with significant economic and human potential and remains committed to cooperation aimed at making the region more connected, peaceful and prosperous.
