Turkish and Pakistani military personnel to be stationed in Saudi Arabia

Turkish and Pakistani military personnel will be stationed in Saudi Arabia.

This is stated in a joint statement following a meeting of the Committee on Strategic, Political, and Defense Affairs, held within the framework of the Makkah Joint Defense Agreement.

"The Committee decided to immediately commence the implementation of collective defense obligations and, within this framework, take measures for the rapid deployment of agreed military forces and assets in Saudi Arabia in accordance with the national legislation of the parties, thereby strengthening readiness, military integration, and collective capabilities to counter threats," the statement emphasizes.

The decision comes against the backdrop of escalating hostilities in Yemen. The head of the Saudi-backed Yemeni government announced the launch of a large-scale military operation against the Houthis aimed at seizing territories under their control.
