Trump: At times, more oil is now being transported through the Strait of Hormuz than before the US-Israeli war with Iran
US President Donald Trump has again said that, at times, more oil is now being transported through the Strait of Hormuz than before the start of the war between the United States and Israel and Iran.
The US president made the statement while speaking to reporters at the White House.
“The Strait of Hormuz — huge volumes. Millions of barrels of oil have been moved through it just in the last couple of days. We are now transporting at levels that sometimes even exceed those before the war,” Trump said.
On October 1, responding to reporters’ questions, Trump expressed confidence that the United States had established “full control” over the Strait of Hormuz. “Over the past two days, more oil has passed through the strait than ever before in history,” he added at the time.
On September 27, Trump said that a “record amount of oil” had been transported through the Strait of Hormuz over the previous 24 hours — more than “was being transported before the war.”
