Russian FM: Further strengthening cooperation with CSTO member states is one of Russia's foreign policy priorities
The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) has established itself as one of the key mechanisms for ensuring regional security. This was stated in a message from the Russian Foreign Ministry, TASS reports.
"Over a relatively short period by historical standards, the Organization—which currently unites six countries: Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan—has come a commendable way and established itself as one of the key mechanisms for ensuring regional security. The CSTO systematically addresses tasks of preventing and resolving crisis situations, combating multifaceted challenges and threats to stability, continuously improving the combat readiness of the Organization's Collective Forces, and maintaining intensive foreign policy coordination," the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized.
As the statement notes, further strengthening cooperation with CSTO member states is one of Russia's foreign policy priorities.
The diplomatic agency reminded that October 7 marks the 24th anniversary of the signing of the Charter of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, which established the CSTO as an international regional association.
"The goals set out in the document, including strengthening peace and stability, and protecting on a collective basis the independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty of member states, remain the foundation for developing mutually beneficial, genuinely allied cooperation," the Ministry pointed out.
