Azerbaijan urges UN to play a more active role regarding missing persons

UN agencies and other relevant international organizations must take a more active role in searching for missing persons, facilitating information exchange, developing forensic capabilities, and expanding support for affected families.

The statement was made by Shahriyar Hajiyev, First Secretary of the Permanent Mission of Azerbaijan to the UN.

He emphasized that the issue of missing persons is one of the most serious concerns in armed conflicts and should be addressed as a global challenge affecting lives in various regions worldwide.
