Bordyuzha: NATO ignored CSTO's attempts to establish working contacts

NATO has repeatedly ignored attempts by the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) to establish working contacts, former CSTO Secretary-General Nikolai Bordyuzha told RIA Novosti.

According to him, a position on organizing cooperation with NATO had been developed within the CSTO, and a document titled "On the Principles of Relations Between the CSTO and NATO" was adopted by consensus.

This document outlined the areas in which the CSTO could and was interested in cooperating with NATO structures.

"However, nothing came of it; our attempts to establish contact failed. NATO took no steps whatsoever to even respond to our appeals and proposals," the former CSTO Secretary-General admitted.
