Pashinyan: TRIPP has no territory; projects can be implemented across Armenia

While presenting the government's performance report in the National Assembly, Nikol Pashinyan also touched upon TRIPP.

According to him, prior to the complete organization of subsequent processes, the Government will, on its own initiative, begin commissioning the design work for the railway, highway, and power transmission lines envisioned within the framework of the TRIPP project.

"The moment the TRIPP development company is formed, the Government will simply transfer the already completed work to that company. In other words, when the company is ready to assume and carry out the respective work, we will already have a certain volume of preliminary design work done. Thus, we can say that we have practically entered the implementation phase of the TRIPP project," Pashinyan said.

He stressed that the implementation of TRIPP would unblock Armenia in all directions. At the same time, however, he emphasized that this did not mean that all infrastructure projects or transport routes involved in the unblocking process would necessarily have to fall under TRIPP.

At present, the Nrnadzor–Karchavan railway section is expected to be part of the TRIPP project. Plans also include the construction of power transmission lines and a highway along this route.

"The TRIPP project has no defined territory. We have a ratified international treaty that has high legal force in the Republic of Armenia. TRIPP-related projects can be implemented in various parts of Armenia, across its entire territory. For example, if we expect or are confident that a transit gas pipeline will one day pass through Armenia, there is absolutely no requirement for that pipeline to run through the country's southern regions," Pashinyan said," Pashinyan said.

According to him, the restoration of our railway infrastructure in the Yeraskh section is also essential. Within the next 3 months, a final decision must be made on this issue.
