Olzhas Bektenov appointed new prime minister of Kazakhstan
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has appointed the former head of his administration, Olzhas Bektenov, to the post of the country’s prime minister. As Armenpress reports, TASS wrote this.
“Olzhas Bektenov was appointed prime minister of Kazakhstan, after being relieved of his previous position,” reads the presidential decree.
Earlier, by a majority vote, deputies of the Mazhilis (the lower house of the Parliament of Kazakhstan) gave their consent to the president to approve Bektenov’s candidacy for prime minister’s post.
On Feb. 5, Tokayev dissolved the Kazakh government headed by Prime Minister Alihan Smaiylov.
