Israeli embassies around the world to increase alert level following attack on Iranian consulate in Damascus

The Israeli embassies around the world will be on high alert after seven Iranian military advisers were killed on Monday in an Israeli airstrike on the Iranian Consulate in Damascus.

To remind, Iran has blamed Israel for the airstrike on the consulate building located next to the Iranian embassy in Damascus. As a result of the attack, two Iranian generals and five officers of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were killed, including Gen. Mohammad Reza Zahedi, the senior commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Syria and Lebanon.

Iranian Ambassador to Syria Hossein Akbari said that the building was attacked by six missiles from F-35 fighter jets.

He also noted that the attack was against all international conventions and vowed to “vigorously retaliate”.
