Glendale’s Mayor Elen Asatryan to arrive in Armenia
Mayor of Glendale Elen Asatryan will be in Armenia on June 11-20 to attend the U.S.-Armenia Local Democracy Forum organized by the U.S. Department of State.
The Mayor’s Office reports that Asatryan will arrive ahead of the delegation on the night of June 11.
The purpose of the visit is to develop bilateral relations, explore economic opportunities and promote cultural and educational exchanges between Armenia and Glendale and beyond. She will visit Yerevan, Gyumri and, if time permits, Kapan.
“I am excited to return to my homeland, Armenia, as the mayor of Glendale, home to the largest community of Armenians outside Armenia, which makes up approximately 40% of our city’s population,” Asatryan said.
During the visit, meetings are planned with officials of local self-government bodies of Armenia, media outlets, businessmen and community organizations.
