Two pilots killed in fighter jet collision in France

Two French pilots were killed in a collision of Rafale fighter jets in the northeast of the country. According to Armenpress, this was announced by French President Emmanuel Macron.

“We are saddened to learn of the deaths of Capt. Sebastian Mabire and Lt. Mathis Lawrence in an air crash during a Rafale training flight. The country expresses its condolences to their families and to the fellow soldiers from the Saint-Dizier air base,” the French president wrote.

The causes of the plane crash that happened on Aug. 14 are still unknown. As reported by the French mass media, there were three people on board the planes; one of the pilots ejected from the plane, receiving injuries. The second Rafale aircraft was carrying an instructor and a student, who were killed in the crash.
