Borrell: Some of Israel’s actions contravene international law

Israel has the right to defend itself, but some of its
actions contravene international law. High Representative of the Union for
Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell made a statement on this
after the EU foreign ministers meeting in Oman. The extraordinary meeting was
called in connection with the escalation of the Israeli–Palestinian
conflict.

“Some of Israel’s actions, such as the disruption of water,
food and power supplies in Gaza, contravene international law. The response to
Hamas’s operations made it necessary to underline the necessity to observe
international law,” Borrell said.
