If oil prices fall, the conflict in Ukraine could end, U․S․ President Donald Trump said in a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

“The conflict between Russia and Ukraine must be stopped immediately. As long as oil prices remain high, this conflict will continue. We will lower oil prices, and Russia will end the war,” Trump said.

He noted that such measures should have been “taken long ago.”

Trump stated that Ukraine is ready to end the war, adding that the ball is in Russia’s court.

“If you want to know whether the war will end this year, ask Russia. Ukraine is ready for an agreement,” he said.
