Attack on Iran was crucial to prevent nuclear weapons, says Trump

U.S. President Donald Trump said in a press briefing that the strike on Iran was extremely important, warning that without it, Iran would likely have nuclear weapons — not just one, but multiple nuclear warheads by now.

“Even if we had reached a deal, on top of everything there would have been a huge dark cloud hanging over it, and that would have been a completely different situation. Iran is a very different reality,” Trump said, adding that Iran now intends to work toward establishing peace and that the U.S. will cooperate with them.
