Ara Ayvazyan: Azerbaijan has taken a path of expansionism, complaining about Armenian revanchism

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev understands that some time later, he is going to lose the Armenian territories that he has taken since 2018. Therefore, he is harping on about Armenian revanchism. Former Foreign Minister of Armenia Ara Ayvazyan said this today during a discussion titled “The Challenges Facing Armenia and Alternative Ways To Respond To Them”.

“Baku’s official rhetoric and actions attest to the fact that Azerbaijan seeks such a radical transformation of relations with Armenia, which will permanently strengthen the current situation. Being carried away by military achievements and having paid no political price for what has happened, the president of Azerbaijan has taken a path of expansionism,” Ayvazyan said.

He noted that peace means different things for Yerevan, Baku and Ankara, and the war launched by Aliyev has not ended, neither with the tripartite agreement of November 9, nor with the forced depopulation and occupation of Artsakh.
