Russian officials: Pashinyan is a liar and a scoundrel who can no longer deceive the Armenian people
With regard to Pashinyan’s accusations against two CSTO member states of providing assistance to Baku in 2020, Russian State Duma member Konstantin Zatulin told Gazeta.ru that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is trying to place the entire responsibility for losing the war with Azerbaijan on Russia.
“My stance has long been known. Pashinyan is a liar and a scoundrel who is trying to direct the anger of the Armenian people toward Russia, failing and losing everything for which his predecessors and the entire Armenian people fought for many years,” Zatulin said. He thinks, in his statement, Pashinyan was hinting at Russia and Belarus.
In a conversation with NEWS.ru, Viktor Vodolatsky, the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, noted that by criticizing the CSTO, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is looking for a guilty party for the events that took place in Artsakh. “Pashinyan makes such statements in order to justify himself to people for ceding everything to his Western investors: the French, Germans, Americans. He is looking for a guilty party where there is none. You cannot deceive the people of Armenia. They understood who Pashinyan is a long time ago,” Vodolatsky noted.
The EADaily news agency, in turn, wrote that the essence of Pashinyan’s administration’s foreign policy lies only in ceding territories to Azerbaijan and expelling Russian influence from Armenia; and these two processes are closely interconnected. As the news agency writes, attacks on the Armenian Church on the grounds that it is allegedly connected with the KGB or Russia attest to the use of Western practices by Pashinyan.
