Armenia’s National Security Service issues statement ahead of Holy Struggle rally
The Armenian National Security Service (NSS) issued a statement, reading: “The National Security Service of RA, based on the mission of protecting the constitutional order of RA, protecting the rights, freedoms or legitimate interests of a person or organization, or the legitimate interests of society or the state, urges the representatives of the opposition political forces, during the rally planned for October 2, 2024 in Republic Square of Yerevan, to refrain from public calls for the seizure of power, violent overthrow of the constitutional order, using violence against a person or a group of persons under any circumstances, resisting a government representative or taking actions aimed at their implementation, warning that the National Security Service of RA is in control of the operational situation and, using all the tools assigned to it, the National Security Service of RA is capable of neutralizing actions aimed at undermining the internal security of RA.
At the same time, reaffirming that any action that threatens the constitutional order of RA and the security of the state will lead to corresponding criminal legal consequences, we urge the citizens participating in the rally to demonstrate law-abiding behavior and not to succumb to provocative actions.
