NATO supports the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy of NATO and NATO Secretary General’s Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia Javier Colomina said this.
“We have been very supportive of the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. We have been supporting the efforts towards that normalization coming from the European Union, or from the United States, or the ones that have been carried out by Armenia and Azerbaijan bilaterally,” Colomina said.
He noted that he had met with the Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers in the margins of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Skopje, North Macedonia.
