Appeal process against Vagif Khachatryan’s verdict begins in Baku

The appeal process against the court decision on Vagif
Khachatryan’s case has begun in Azerbaijan.

The Baku Court of Appeal, under the chairmanship of Judge
Hasan Ahmadov, has studied the evidence presented within the appeal.

To remind, Khachatryan had been sentenced to 15 years in
prison for “participating in mass murders of Azerbaijanis”. Later, his advocate
announced their decision to appeal against the decision.

Vagif Khachatryan was abducted from the illegal checkpoint
over the Hakari bridge. He was being transferred to Armenia in an ICRC vehicle
to undergo surgery on his heart.
