Since April 2022, the Armenian authorities have been
publicly announcing their plans to cede Artsakh. This was first stated by
Pashinyan at the National Assembly meeting. He said that he was lowering the
bar in the negotiations on the Artsakh issue. Secretary of the NA With Honor
Faction Tigran Abrahamyan made a Facebook post on this.
According to Abrahamyan, Pashinyan’s team members then began
to “clearly explain” that thereby their leader had renounced the right to
self–determination and saw the settlement of the conflict within Azerbaijan’s
territorial integrity.
“To sound more reasonable, the authorities began to promote
such ideas as “Artsakh can exist within Azerbaijan”, “the Armenian community of
Azerbaijan”, “Artsakh is part of historical Azerbaijan”, etc. Afterward, at the
famous summit in Prague, Pashinyan said that he was ready to recognize Artsakh
as part of Azerbaijan,” Abrahamyan wrote, noting that all those who are trying
to find ways out of the current situation and consider the cession of Artsakh
to be their personal tragedy should base their struggle on the correct
chronology of events and objective reality.
