Online platforms in Russia to store user messages for 3 years

The Russian parliament has passed a bill in its first reading, according to which all online platforms will be obliged to store users’ text, voice and image messages for up to three years.

The Moscow Times says the authorities are presenting this move as a measure to combat cybercrime.
