6 killed in landslide in Georgia; More than 30 still missing

At least six people have been killed in the landslide in
Western Georgia’s Shovi resort.

As a result of yesterday’s landslide, bridges were
destroyed. The road running to Shovi, holiday cottages and the Sunset Shovi
hotel were damaged.

At the moment, 31 people are still missing. Search for them
continues. Rescuers have not been able to contact them so far. 

According to the local media, rescuers and the police
arrived at the scene by the helicopters of the MIA Border Police of Georgia to
evacuate people.

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has declared
Aug. 7 a day of mourning.
