US and Iran want war to end and Strait of Hormuz to reopen, Hakan Fidan says

Negotiations between the United States and Iran have both difficult and positive aspects, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said during a press conference in Doha.

“Both sides want the war to end and the Strait of Hormuz to reopen,” Fidan stated.

He noted that the main issue is how to put this into writing.

“At the moment, this is roughly the nature of the exchange of messages. We hope they will reach a result; we do not even want to think otherwise,” he said.

The Turkish foreign minister stressed that war brings destruction to the world and that the Strait of Hormuz must be reopened.
