Ursula von der Leyen says EU deeply values partnership with democratic Armenia as it moves closer to Europe

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has congratulated Nikol Pashinyan.

The congratulatory message was shared in both English and Armenian on X:

“The spirit of the Velvet Revolution you led in 2018 is alive and strong.

We deeply value our partnership with democratic Armenia, which is steadily drawing closer to Europe.

We stand with Armenia,” Von der Leyen wrote.
