Netanyahu says Iran won’t obtain nuclear weapons while he is PM

The struggle is not over yet, and more challenges lie ahead, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has said, adding that Israel will continue to navigate its path with “wisdom and judgment.”

He said that just as Israel restored security and prosperity to southern Israeli communities near the Gaza Strip, it would also restore security and prosperity to northern Israeli communities bordering Lebanon.

“This requires maintaining the ‘security zone’ in southern Lebanon, this requires that we do not leave there as long as Israel’s security needs require it,” Netanyahu said.

“Because this zone separates Hezbollah from our citizens and our settlements. And in a broader view, we will continue to adhere to the supreme goal that has guided us, guided me, during most of my adult life.”

As for Tehran, Netanyahu said: “Iran will not have nuclear weapons. And as long as I am the Prime Minister of Israel, it will not happen.”
