Venezuela earthquakes’ death toll surpasses 3,800 as thousands left homeless
The death toll from the devastating twin earthquakes in Venezuela continues to rise. According to the latest figures provided by National Assembly President Jorge Rodríguez, 3,811 people have been killed and 16,740 injured. Thousands of others have been left homeless, Reuters reports.
Authorities said around 25,000 new homes need to be built to accommodate those affected, and land plots have already been allocated for reconstruction efforts.
Although the chances of finding survivors are decreasing with each passing day, search and rescue operations are continuing.
