Nearly 100 US troops injured after latest strikes on Iran, Pentagon says

Nearly 100 American service members have suffered injuries of varying severity during US military operations against Iran over the past two weeks, Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell said.

“Although nearly 100 service members have sustained injuries of varying degrees since July 7, 2026, 96% of them have returned to duty. They are determined to return to combat operations,” Parnell said.

He noted that “the majority of the injuries sustained are mild traumatic brain injuries.”

Earlier, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said that two American service members were killed and another was missing on July 17 while repelling Iranian missile and drone attacks in Jordan.
